Individuals tours
Visit the Azeville battery at your own pace!
Audio tour!
With our individuals tours, take a self-guided visit of the 300 metres of tunnels, then visit the ammunition bunkers, the ringstands, personnel shelters and two casemates.
As you follow the 17 steps of the audio guide, you’ll see how the battery operated, its architecture, the everyday life of the German garrison, its relations with the civilian population and you’ll learn more about the events of June 1944 in the Utah Beach sector.
Note that the audio tour usually lasts from 45 minutes to 1 hour. For those who are really keen, the three audio guide “deep dive” levels can take you on a 2 and a half hour tour! Included: the permanent exhibition: A German garrison in Normandy.
Accessible all year without booking.
Please note that the ticket office closes 1 hour before the site closes.
The audio guide is available in 7 languages (French, English, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian). A version for 7 to 12 year old children is available in French, English, Dutch and German.
For the hearing impaired, our audio guides are equipped with magnetic induction loops and we have a tour booklet (available from reception).
Finally, events are organised throughout the year. To find out more, see our Programming section!
In connection with the “System [D-Day]” exhibition presented at the Ferme-Musée du Cotentin, a photographic tour is also offered on the reuse of military equipment in the Manche landscape.
