Frequently asked questions

You haven’t found the answer to one of your questions? The Azeville battery team answers your most frequently asked questions!

Bookings are not required for individual audio tours. We strongly recommend that groups of more than 15 people book by calling the following number: +33 0(2).33.40.63.05.

We recommend that you book in advance for all children’s activities, guided tours, events and conferences, as the number of places is limited. Booking is required for all shows.

The RCPT organises a parachute drop in June. Entry to the observation zone is free, and you can access it from the reception building without prior booking. During this event, the audio-guided tour of the site is at a reduced rate for everyone.

Of course, it must be on a lead and respectful of other visitors and the site: don’t forget the poop bags. For more information on holidays with your dog, see: Tourism with my dog

For audio guides, we can provide a magnetic loop. The audio tour texts are also available in French, English, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

There is a PASS BAIE DU COTENTIN.
The pass costs €1 per adult and entitles holders to discounts at tourist sites and museums in the Carentan, Sainte-Mère-Eglise, Utah Beach and Quinéville areas.
You can buy it at the battery, from various partner sites and at the Baie du Cotentin tourist office sites.

Unfortunately, not all of it.
The reception building and the outside part of the site are accessible to people with reduced mobility. However, the underground part has several staircases, steps and uneven ground.

There is a toilet block with three toilets (one of which has disabled access) and two urinals (one of which is designed for children) at the car park. Importantly, please note that we haven’t installed a baby changing table yet.

The distance from the car park to the reception building is around 150 metres. The site tour covers around 300 metres of tunnels and 400 metres of outdoor paths, making a total of 700 metres.

It’s important to note that the tour covers uneven ground, with stairs, steps and gravel. It is not suitable for pushchairs.

There are local products in our shop: cider, apple juice from Père Mahieu, Caramels d’Isigny from Isigny-sur-Mer and the full Meuh Cola range.

Whether at the Battery or in Azeville, you won’t find a bakery or fast-food outlets.
You’ll have to go to Ravenoville (4 km), Montebourg (7 km), Sainte-Mère-Église (7.6 km) or Quinéville (7.8 km).

Yes, there are picnic tables near the car park. Please note: one of the tables is suitable for the disabled.
However, there is no sheltered area. Part of a group? Get in touch with us.

The nearest beach is in Les Gougins, 5.5 km away.

The car park is relatively large for manoeuvring.
The roads leading to the Azeville battery are narrow, so careful driving is essential. We recommend that coaches park in reverse as they enter the site.
